Pastoral Team
Prior to leading morning worship at my interview weekend for MIC in June 2016, I wasn’t at all sure that MIC was where I was meant to be. But as I stood to preach that Sunday morning, I felt the power of the Holy Spirit come upon me and upon that congregation. As I sat down at the end of the sermon, I knew without a shadow of doubt that MIC was exactly where God wanted me to be.
I joined the MIC family in 2015, following a heartfelt calling in Yale. There are two things I love - worship & people. Worship is the sweetest reminder that everyone is so loved by God! You can always find me in worship or among the youth and young adult crowd. If you can’t see me, I’m probably somewhere in Japan or Italy!
“What are you going to be when you grow up?” I used to think this was a career question, but having had so many roles—teacher, lawyer, administrator, fundraiser, historian, managing director—I now believe it’s really a heart question. “Where will God lead you as your heart matures?” Looking back, I see that all my “jobs” have been where God has matured me in different ways. And now, since October 2022, God has called me to lay all that down and enter my true calling as a pastor at MIC—joining in God’s work here to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and nurture and support people on their journey of faith.
After joining MIC twelve years ago, little did I know the depth of love for Christ and spiritual maturity I would gain from worshipping and serving our loving Father alongside such a wonderful congregation. Growing up Methodist and experiencing the joy of actively joining youth groups in small-town Indiana, I’m overjoyed to have the chance to give back to the community here in Hong Kong and beyond. God’s greatest gift of cultivating my experience in the field of education as a teacher was to place on my heart the desire to return to the field of ministry providing pastoral care to the future of our church.
Administrative Team
I joined the team in 2014. I could not thank God enough for his abundant blessings in my life. He gave me the wisdom to do his work and in my weekly preparation for the services, I learn a lot and get to know people. I am honoured and blessed to serve God and knowing that He will be there along the way.
I thank God for bringing me to MIC. It's been an amazing experience to meet all the lovely people here. I believe God has led me and given me His greatest love even when I was weak. I will trust in God and let him use my hands to overcome every challenge.
When she is not wrangling cables and calling cues, you can find Winnie exploring the underwater world as an avid scuba diver. She is also a self-proclaimed coffee enthusiast, always on the hunt for the perfect brew.
I have been serving God since I was young. I am passionate about contributing to various churches and the Christian community by sharing my production knowledge. Additionally, I produce and mix songs for various local worship bands. The moments of worship and praise are especially meaningful to me. Now, I can't wait to share my joy with the MIC Family. I am grateful to God for bringing me here.
Having worshipped at MIC for many years, I'm grateful God placed me here to serve Him and give back to the church at this stage of my life. I hope to let God work in me and inspire me to glorify Him through image, space and word.
I was baptized in the Methodist Church in 2009. I kept devoted and put in much effort into my religious beliefs in the first few years. Unfortunately, a busy life brought instability after that. I started to get some distance from God when my time was fully occupied. Thank you, God, for such amazing invitation and for providing me a friendly working environment in MIC. The Lord’s unexpected blessings have set me back on the right track and the truth.
When I was lost and feeling hopeless, God opened His arms and chose me to join the MIC family. I feel the love, joy, and peace from within. A new Ely is reborn! I will follow God's guidance and am thankful to start my spiritual life in MIC.
I was looking for a quiet place to hide. I have worked for different churches to know about God but decided to leave for five years to another role, now I finally returned to the church again coming to MICHK. People said this was God's plan.
I am very happy to work at MIC because everyone is sincere and gives 100% effort.
I am one of the oldest members of MIC. I have been working here since 1987, for 34 years and counting. MIC is a place that holds a lot of memories for me. I have been here since I was young, and I even got married in this church! I enjoy working at MIC because of the people I’ve seen come and go over the years, and because I love God. MIC is like home to me!
After serving children and families in different sectors since 2010, I took a break from 2019-2022 to study and start my own business. This opportunity to serve at MIC was a surprise gift from God. I am truly thankful that He invited me on this new adventure with Him to nurture the young children who come through the door at PlayDays@MIC. My greatest joy is seeing children grow and flourish in an environment where they can experience love and joy!
