Revd Eden – Senior Pastor
THY WILL BE DONE
I am really grateful and greatly encouraged by the significant amount of prayer taking place across the MIC community. From the twice a year Pastoral team retreat to whole staff team retreats, stewards retreats, to small group fellowships and bible studies, to PUSH teams, after worship prayer times, WhatsApp groups, one on one casual prayers, the church is bursting with prayer. I believe that this is, in large part, why we are experiencing a ‘growth spurt’ at this moment.
Congregations have been growing and Holy Spirit excitement and enthusiasm is being experienced in our children, family and youth ministry, through to our teaching groups, Women’s Retreat, Pastoral Care ministry, Men’s ministry and Outreach.
Prayer really does change things. A couple of months ago at our Staff Away day, I felt convicted to organise a church prayer day, something that was later confirmed at a prayer lunch I attended. God wants to do more amongst us, to open up new possibilities, He wants to release us from unnecessary burdens like finance and buildings so that we can concentrate on the important call to preach Christ to all. God wants with us to push back powers, principalities and strongholds in society and we can only do this through prayer.
God is establishing his Kingdom and I want us to gather together to pray for HIS WILL TO BE DONE AMONGST US. Gathered here are the thoughts, prayers and longings of many, please take time to pray through them with us.
Some of my most heartfelt prayers I list here:
An openness to the leading of the Holy Spirit who often surprises
A Spirit of humility, optimism and fervour amongst all
A deepening of worship experience
A release from the $7+million owed for the redevelopment of Wesleyan House
Protection over the staff team and congregation from things that would divide and disrupt
Clarity of purpose for outreach and mission
Growing zeal for evangelism
Partnership opportunities with Methodist Centre
Further development of the Arts Ministry
Development of the Healing and Wholeness Ministry Centre
Thank you for joining us on this most important day.
God bless you,
Pastor Eden
FCC – Rev Israel
Prayers for the FCC
I pray that more dedicated leaders of FCC be developed and step forward to embrace the envisioned goal as stipulated in the 7 pillars of our mission and vision as a church.
I do pray that their insecurities/regionalism be changed and be more open to a cross-cultural way of serving our Lord Jesus Christ.
I pray that FCC leaders be able to forgive and forget their long individual feud that created divisions, factionalism, over-politicization, and polarization inside the congregation. (Unity amidst diversity).
As we already started going out of the Wesleyan house as a congregation may we encourage more souls to believe and surrender their lives to our dear Loving God.
I pray that we as FCC will be more intentional in demonstrating our faith and spirituality through extravagant giving. And be able to intentionally participate in addressing our financial challenges as a whole MIC.
I pray that we may be able to have a full-time Global Board of Global Ministries from the United Methodist Church (GBGM) worker focusing on social justice issues for the Filipino Migrants.
I pray that I as pastor of FCC will have more patience and endurance in creating more spaces to unite the FCC community and be more focused in doing missions and outreaches.

Heavenly Father,
We humbly come before your throne of grace, may you fill us with your holy love, let all the darkness of our souls vanish before the beams of your brightness.
Take away from us the heart of stone,
and give us a heart of flesh, a heart to love and adore you, a heart to delight in you, to follow and to enjoy you, for Christ’s sake.
As we are studying the Book of Romans together, we hold firm to the belief that “all things work together for the good of those who love You, those called according to Your purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
We pray fervently for MIC, that the church will be a beacon of hope and a testament to Your unending grace in this world.
We have navigated through times of challenge and change, and we remember that every moment is woven into your divine plan, leading us closer to the fulfillment of Your kingdom.
Gracious Lord, may you imbue MIC with the strength to persevere, the wisdom to lead, and the compassion to heal. In every circumstance, help us to see Your hand at work, transform trials into triumphs, and sorrows into joy.
Loving God, may your radiance of love constantly encourage and remind MIC to reach out to the world and reach in to our brothers and sisters, to be good samaritans, to be the inn keeper, strive to be a church community that all people are welcomed and to do all the good we can.
And Father God we want to pray specially for MIC Outreach & Mission Ministry, asking You to guide our steps and fill our actions with Your love. Empower us to reach out to the community with compassion, bringing hope and healing to those in need. May our efforts sow seeds of faith, drawing souls closer to You. Bless our work, that through our ministry, Your love, light and truth will shine brightly. Amen.
We pray for our Playday and Play in English. Bless our efforts as we organize playdays and plays, creating opportunities for joy, learning, and community building. May these events not only entertain but also convey your truths and bring people together in fellowship and laughter. Protect all participants and guide the organizers, actors, and everyone involved, that through these activities, your joy may permeate hearts and strengthen bonds among us. Let these moments of play be a reflection of the abundant life found in You. Amen.
We pray for the upcoming Alpha Course in September. Every year it is a great opportunity to mission to our friends around us. Lord, we are asking for Your wisdom and guidance, as we explore the basics of the Christian faith, open the hearts and minds of all participants, may this course be a tool for transformation, leading the participants and also the leaders and facilitators to a deeper understanding and relationship with You. Bless the team with clarity, patience, and insight as they lead discussions and share Your Word. Let Your Holy Spirit move freely, making this journey one of discovery, growth, and fellowship in You. Amen.
We pray for our hospital & social service center visits. We ask Your blessing on all who participate in hospital visitations. Grant them wisdom, patience, and a comforting presence. As they walk through the halls of healing, let them be a beacon of Your grace and peace. Provide comfort and healing to the patients they visit, and may their presence remind others of Your everlasting love and the hope we have in You. Strengthen and protect them, Lord, in this vital ministry. Amen.
We pray for our bereavement care. Merciful God. Lord, give you thanks that MIC celebrate Priesthood of all believers, we are all called to pastor our brothers and sisters. we pray for those engaged in bereavement care. In moments of loss and grief, grant them the right words and a compassionate heart. Help them to be a source of comfort and a reflection of your love to those experiencing sorrow. May their ministry bring solace and a sense of your presence to those mourning, reminding them that they are not alone in their pain. Bless and equip them, Lord, as they walk alongside others in their journey of grief. Amen.
We pray for our partnership work with Bethune House & Mission for Migrant Workers, helping many Filipino migrant workers, those far from home and working tirelessly to provide for the families. These organizations have been a great and kind helping hand when the migrant workers are in desperate situation. May you bless the organization with resources and wisdom to use it wisely, just like the parable of the Good Samaritan you said, be like the inn keeper, brining healing and restoration to many who are in need. Amen
Pastor Heather
Dear Loving Heavenly Father,
We come to you today conscious of how far away we are from being the people you hope for us to be. We are ashamed and almost afraid to face you in prayer. But we know you are waiting for us to turn to you. So we gather up our courage, and by your grace, we come before you with our longings and our hopes.
We long to be the people you mean for us to be. You have told us in your Word and you have shown this church your hopes for us in the next few years. We confess that we are so preoccupied with our own matters that we often relegate your church to the last on our list. Forgive us, Lord. And help us to reorient our lives to put you first.
Heavenly Father, we pray for ourselves the prayer the Apostle Paul prayed for the church in Ephesus: May we, being rooted and established in love, have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that we may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
We pray that with your love filling us, we will in turn be able to love one another without fear, envy, prejudice, condescension, misunderstanding, or judgment. And treat each other with genuine respect, compassion, understanding, generosity, hospitality, and forgiveness.
We ask, dear Lord, that you
– Teach us
– Guide us
– Encourage us
– Strengthen us
– Empower us by your Spirit
Thank you, dear Lord, for never giving up on us, your Church.
In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen

Summer – Events Team
Gracious Heavenly Father,
We humbly gather before you today, filled with gratitude for your unwavering faithfulness that has sustained us in every season here in MIC. Whether in times of abundance or adversity, we have witnessed your steadfast presence. Our hearts overflow with trust, knowing that you are with us not only today but also in the days to come.
Lord Jesus, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your boundless love and kindness showered upon each member of MIC. You have taught us that true life is found in you, and in your presence, we discover immeasurable joy. Open our eyes to recognize the incredible works you are accomplishing in our communities, city, and nations. Grant us the humility and courage to respond eagerly to your call. Empower us to be your hands and feet, carrying out your purpose, for we have personally experienced and embraced your profound love.
Precious Holy Spirit, we beseech you to speak to all who enter our doors each day. May your voice reach the hearts of couples embarking on the journey of marriage, blessing them with a joyous and fulfilling union. Comfort those who have recently lost loved ones, wrapping them in your tender embrace and offering them the hope that transcends grief. As we engage in special events, fill us with uncontainable joy. May performers find peace and inspiration through your presence. In all these encounters, may we catch a glimpse of your Kingdom manifesting on earth, mirroring the glory that abides in Heaven.
With sincere hearts, we offer this prayer, trusting in your continued faithfulness and grace. Amen.
Pastor King – Adventurers
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with hearts full of gratitude for all the children who attend Adventurers both in Playdays@MIC and Sunday School. We thank You for the opportunity to nurture their young hearts and guide them on their spiritual journeys and development walk in life. We humbly ask You to pour out Your blessings upon each child who walks through the doors of Adventurers.
Lord, we pray that You wrap these children in Your loving arms and make them feel warm, safe, and secure in Your presence. Guide them as they navigate through life, helping them to grow in their understanding of You and Your Word. May their time on children’s floor be a source of joy and inspiration, where they can learn and experience Your love first hand.
Father, we also lift up their parents, teachers, and carers to You. Strengthen their faith and deepen their relationship with You. Grant them wisdom and discernment as they guide these children in their daily lives. Help them to be shining examples of Your love, grace, and mercy.
Lord, we ask for Your guidance and provision for the children in their academic pursuits. Help them to excel in their studies, granting them understanding, wisdom, and a desire to learn. May their education be a stepping stone toward fulfilling Your purpose for their lives.
We also pray for the organizers and volunteers of Adventurers. Bless them abundantly for their dedication and commitment to serving the children. Provide them with the resources, wisdom, and strength needed to carry out Your will in this ministry.
We commit all the plans of this ministry. May they be pleasing to you. May your will be done greatly in every program and projects that Adventurers will launch.
Finally, we pray for all who plan for Adventurers especially King, the leader of Adventurers. Grant them wisdom, power, and strength as they lead with humility and love. May they be instruments in Your hands, guiding the children and pointing them toward You. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit and bless his efforts to glorify Your name.
In Jesus precious name, we pray.
Amen.
Andrew Immanuel
Dear Heavenly Father
We thank you for your abundant blessings and providence. May your light show us the right path in stewarding the resources at MIC, as we traverse through an important period in the life of our church when we repay all our obligations for this wonderful building. Please give us the spirit of discernment in each decision of ours, so that every physical expenditure we do reflects a divine cause. May we also expand our mission to avenues beyond the usual, bringing your good news to masses untouched. We pray that our human, financial and spiritual resources glorify your name and share your love and grace with Hong Kong and beyond. Amen.
Prayer for Youth – Pastor Erik
Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift the youth up to you! Thank you for the words you placed on their hearts to pray over themselves while studying Romans 5 this past Sunday. Here are a few of them…
Romans 5: 2-4
“We boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.”
(Prayer over our suffering)
We pray for your strong shelter to protect us through our struggles. We face anxiety as our exams are coming up. We feel our mental health stretched to the breaking point as we worry about our futures. We see our friends in distress daily and ask for your blessings of focus, understanding and acceptance in their lives. Lord, shelter us in our sufferings!
(Prayer of perseverance)
Lord, even while we are being tempered in our sufferings, we lift up our enemies to you, despite comments that hurt us. We thank you that we are able to experience your calm, and not be burned out by exam revision. We thank you for the chance to play football with our friends and for the chance to laugh and play happily together. Lord, grant in us the perseverance to rise above the storm!
(Prayer for your character)
Lord, give us the character of courage to be our true selves. Give us the patience to be confident despite the many delays and setbacks we face. Lord, give us the character of wisdom to distinguish between right and wrong. Lord, grow within us the character of your son, Jesus!
(Prayer for a new hope)
Lord, we hope for your love and understanding to be the beacon of our lives. We hope for compassionate parents, inspiring teachers and prayerful pastors to guide us. We hope to joyfully live each day in your word, for your truth to shine through us into the lives of everyone around us. Lord, thank you for seeing us in our struggles, growing us with perseverance, building us in character and allowing us to see hope beyond hope, to see your kingdom on earth come down in our lives!
AMEN
